Michelle Rossi

​I earned my Master of Arts in Marriage & Family Therapy from Syracuse University in 2014, with a focus on trauma-informed care. I later completed a Master of Education in Human Sexuality from Widener University with an emphasis in Sex Therapy in 2022.

​

My training and experiences as a therapist have led me to view the world and people's experiences through a social justice lens, recognizing the impact of systems (e.g. racism, sexism, classism, transphobia) on people's everyday lives. I maintain cultural humility, recognizing that each client is the expert in their own life, working with clients to identify and process the impact of these external forces and foster empowerment in accordance with their goals.

I've worked with families and teens in foster care and involved in the criminal justice system, supporting them through processing experiences of trauma and building healthy family and interpersonal relationships. ​I've also been able to support children and adults during treatment of life threatening and chronic disease as well as navigating survivorship.​​​

I have extensive experience working with military families and veterans through all phases of military life: managing PCSes and work stressors, staying connected during deployment, addressing experiences of trauma, reintegrating into family life post-deployment, and transitioning into the civilian world when separating or retiring.

I am trained in a variety of treatment modalities but find it is most helpful to prioritize a strong supportive relationship and work collaboratively with clients to identify what approach will be most effective to meet their personal goals.
